Dubrovnik Hills - Did you know ?

Mlini - The place of fresh water streams

Mlini is a picturesque coastal place located about 7 km south-easterly from Dubrovnik beneath the hill Spilan, almost penetrated into the shape of the hill and the wooded rocky land.

The name Mlini means simply "mills" as a refferal to many mills that used to be moved by the stream of the rivulet Zavrelja.

The fresh water streams flow down the hill and enter the sea. Hence the sea temperature in Mlini is a bit more refreshing, an ideal for those hot summer days. Amidst Mlini rivulet Zavrulja makes a refreshing sight with its ducks playing on the small esturary where the river flows into the sea and if walk up the rivulet you will be able to enjoy a small waterfall relentlessly flowing down towards the sea.

Mlini has a wonderful promenade and it is connected with the neighbouring places of Srebrno, Soline, Plat and Kupari with a walking track shaded in the dense oak tree shade. The path closely follows the coast and passes by many beaches and bathing spots of Dubrovnik Riviera. Benches alongside the track allow you to sit down and simply enjoy the view of the naturally blue Adriatic Sea.

During the summer months Mlini is connected with Dubrovnik Old Town via a small boat line.
